Rowing Novices Finish Fall Season In Boston

BOSTON - The UMass rowing team concluded the 2009 fall season this past weekend at the Foot of the Charles Regatta in Boston. Amidst rain and winds gusting up to 15 miles per hour, two of the three novice boats competed in the eights race, finishing 14th and 26th. The Minutewomen will travel to DeLand, Fla. at the beginning of January for their annual 10-day training program.
Teams from 16 different universities entered boats in the novice eights race, with several institutions entering several boats. UMass' first boat finished 14th with a time 15:28.9 while the second boat placed 26th with a time of 18:11.4.
