Amherst, Mass.--Construction on the new grandstands being mounted at the UMass Softball Complex is on time and will be completed by the home season opener against Dartmouth on March 26. Workers have dug holes and installed pipes to form the foundation the bleachers will be put on.

Check back weekly for updated pictures and news on the construction progress leading up to its completion. The Minutewomen (2-3-0) return to action on Feb. 22 as they head out West for the Palm Springs Classic in Cathedral City, Calif. UMass will play No. 1 Arizona, No. 6 UCLA, No. 10 Baylor, Fresno State, and Michigan State in the three-day round robin tournament.
