Post Game Quotes
UMass Head Coach Travis Ford
On the Senior's play tonight:
"I'm very proud of our Seniors, very proud. I'm very happy with the way we started the game. It's not easy to get a good start with so much emotion in the beginning and so many things going through their heads. It's hard to turn off your emotion and start thinking about scouting reports. It's a very hard thing to do."
On Luke Bonner's three point shooting:
"Luke Bonner may just be our second best three point shooter. I was just talking about it with our coaches. He really helps us because if the other team is doubling down in our post on Rashaun or Stephane then he spreads the defense."
UMass senior center Rashaun Freeman
On Stephane Lasme's triple double:
"Stephane [Lasme] is an amazing player. To even be that close [to a triple double] is so amazing. He's come a long way as a player in his four years. He absolutely deserved it tonight."
On an emotional Senior Night:
"I had been through it with [former UMass forward Jeff] Viggiano, so I knew it was going to be emotional. To be honest, I cried on Vigg's senior night. But tonight we knew regardless of emotion that we needed to take care of business...Every thing feel into place tonight and this season. It's a wonderful thing. I'll remember this night forever."
UMass senior forward Stephane Lasme
On recording his fourth triple double of the season:
"I didn't know why everyone was chanting for me because the game was pretty much over. But then, Coach Ford told me to go get one block and one rebound. It's a nice thing to have but I honestly wasn't trying to get it."
On Senior Night:
"It didn't hit me until the end of the game. I honestly didn't expect to be that sad. It's not the end of the season, we still have one more game, the A-10 Tournament and hopefully the NCAA Tournament."
UMass senior forward Brandon Thomas
On Senior Night:
"It was very emotional. It's your last game, you know. You grow up playing basketball all your life. You play in high school and then you come to college to play and it's basically your life at school. But to have the support of the fans cheering your name tonight, it was a great feeling."
