The new signees are: Katie Bettencourt, catcher/outfielder, Salem, N.H.; Kyllie Magill, shortstop/catcher, Seekonk, Mass.; Stephanie Mix, outfielder, Cicero, N.Y.; Sara Plourde, pitcher, Bristol, Conn.; and Jordan Storro, shortstop/centerfielder, Leominster, Mass.

Katie Bettencourt is a catcher and outfielder out of Salem, New Hampshire. "She's a versatile player, as she is a catcher and an outfielder, " Sortino said. "She is a strong power-hitter. Even better, she is a strong kid who can hot for average from the right side."

Kyllie Magill is a shortstop and catcher from Seekonk, Mass. "She is really fast and will give us more weapons from the left side," Sortino said. "She can play any position except pitcher and is a very talented young athlete."

Stephanie Mix is an outfielder from Cicero, N.Y. "She is very, very fast," Sortino said. "She hits from the left side and is going to open up our offense with her running abilities. She'll add a lot of speed to the lineup."

Sara Plourde is a pitcher from Bristol, Conn. "She's a very promising pitcher out of Connecticut," Sortino said. "She is a very good athlete with solid pitching fundamentals. There is a wealth of opportunity there for us to develop."
