Britt Canfield Named UMass/Dinn Bros. Athlete Of The Week

AMHERST, Mass. - Junior forward Britt Canfield of the women's soccer team has been named the UMass/Dinn Bros. Athlete of the Week for the week ending October 2. Canfield netted the gamewinning goal in the 1-0 victory over George Washington last Friday to open up Atlantic 10 play. The gamewinner was Canfield's team-leading fifth goal and second gamewinner on the season.
The record for the Minutewomen now stands at 7-3-0 with a conference record of 1-1. UMass continues its A-10 homestand this weekend when they host Dayton on Friday and Xavier on Saturday at Rudd Field. Game times are set up for 4 p.m. and Noon, respectively.
Canfield will be honored at the UMass Sports Luncheon this Wednesday, October 4 at Noon. The luncheon will be held in the Massachusetts Room located on the third floor of the Mullins Center.
