Minutewomen Host Fairfield Saturday At Noon

AMHERST, Mass. - It will be a full day of Massachusetts athletics on Saturday, and the UMass women's soccer team will start it all of at Noon when they host the Fairfield Stags at Rudd Field. Fairfield enters the match with a 2-3-1 record, while the Minutewomen are 3-4-1.
UMass is coming off a hard-fought, double-overtime loss to Dartmouth, a team receiving votes in the national polls. Kristin Walker set a personal record with 17 saves in the match.
Ahna Johnson and Shannon Helm have four and three points, respectively, to lead the Stags. Brett Maron has been in goal for all contests, making 29 saves (.784 save percentage).
UMass leads the all-time series vs. Fairfield 2-1-0. The teams last met on Sept. 5, 2004, a 2-1 win for the Stags in Connecticut.
Admission to Rudd Field is free and so are the raffles and giveaways! The Minutewomen welcome any and all youth groups to our games via our post-game meet-and-greet sessions! For our upcoming games, Sam The Minuteman will be in attendance for "Amherst Youth Soccer Day" (Sunday, Oct. 2 at 1:00 pm vs. St. Bonaventure) and "Hadley Parks & Recreation Day" (Sunday, Oct. 16th at 1:00 pm vs. Saint Louis).
