Gariepy To Row In World Championships For Canada

Amherst, Mass. - UMass senior rowing captain Catherine Gariepy (Montreal, Canada) will row for Canada in the Under 23 World Championships in Amsterdam, Holland, later this month. She will row in the women's lightweight double.

Gariepy has rowed in the bow of the Atlantic 10 Champion varsity eight in all three of her years on the rowing team. In each of the last two years, she was named a National Scholar-Athlete by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Associations. A rising senior, Gariepy is majoring in exercise science.
