AMHERST, Mass. - The Minutewomen will be travelling to the nation's capital for a Friday afternoon match against George Washington. UMass will be trying to get back on the scoreboard after being shutout by Saint Louis, and the Colonials will be trying to snap a four game losing streak and recover from a tough double-overtime loss to Temple.
The Minutewomen will again be looking for the stellar play of goalkeeper Kristin Walker, who made 12 saves last weekend, while being lead offensively by top scorers Britt Canfield (10 points), Vanessa Lima (eight points), Jenny Roehrig (seven points), Lindsey Bellini (seven points) and Vanessa Patry (seven points). Only Canfield and Patry were able to get off shots last weekend against the tough St. Louis defense.
George Washington (4-9, 1-4 A-10) has struggled this season in A-10 competition, with their only win coming against La Salle. GW's top scorer this season is freshman Kerry Philbin (seven points).
Massachusetts will continue its roadtrip on Sunday afternoon in Philadelphia against La Salle.
