2003 UMass Women's Soccer Schedule
AMHERST, Mass. - University of Massachusetts women's soccer Head Coach Jim Rudy announced the 2003 schedule this afternoon. The Minutewomen will open the season on Saturday, Aug. 30, by hosting Quinnipiac at 7:00 p.m.. The game will be played at Agawam High School in Agawam, Mass.
After the season opener, the Minutewomen will hit the road for back-to-back games against Rhode Island and New Hampshire. Massachusetts returns home on Sunday, Sept. 14, to face former Minutewoman stand-out April Kater and the Syracuse Orangewomen. The game is set for 3:00 p.m. After a road game at Boston University, the Minutewomen return home for a pair of non-conference games against Central Connecticut and Binghamton on Sept. 24 and Sept. 28.
On Oct. 3 and Oct. 4, the Minutewomen open up conference play by travelling to George Washington and Richmond. The weekend of Oct. 10, the Atlantic 10's Ohio entrants make their way to Amherst. Xavier makes its first appearance on Rudd Field on Friday, Oct. 10 at 3:00 p.m., while Dayton is in town on Sunday, Oct. 12, at 1:00 p.m.
UMass rounds out the regular season playing four of its last six games on the road. The Minutewomen will play at La Salle (Oct. 17), Fordham (Oct. 19), Temple (Oct. 31) and Saint Joseph's (Nov. 2), while welcoming Duquesne and St. Bonaventure to Rudd Field on Oct. 24 and 26.
The University of Richmond will host the 2003 Atlantic 10 Tournament, Nov. 7-9. Both semifinal games will take place on Friday, Nov. 7, while the championship game will be played on Sunday, Nov. 9.
The 2002 Minutewomen finished 6-11 overall and 5-6 in the A-10, good for seventh-place.
