Peebler And Pock Earn Weekly Honor

AMHERST, Mass. - Junior wide receiver Jason Peebler (Modesto, Calif.) and senior defenseman Thomas Pock (Klagenfurt, Austria) were named co-UMass / Dinn Bros. Athletes of the Week, announced by the UMass Sports Luncheon Committee this afternoon.
Peebler had seven catches for 143 yards and a career-high three touchdowns in the football team's come from behind 30-17 victory over Richmond on Saturday. His touchdowns came on receptions of 38, 23 and 20 yards, and marked the first time that a UMass wide receiver has tallied three scores in a game this season. Peebler's 143 receiving yards equaled his second-highest receiving total of the season, and marked the third time that he has eclipsed the 100-yard plateau.
P?ck had a hand in four of UMass' seven goals in the weekend sweep of Merrimack. In last Friday's 2-0 victory over the Warriors, he tallied both goals. Then in Saturday's 5-3 win, he tallied two assists. He has scored at least two points in six of the eight games this season, and leads all Hockey East players and the nation's defensemen with 14 points and seven goals. He moved into the top 15 on the school's all-time scoring list with his 75th career point on Saturday night.
Peebler and the No. 3 ranked football team will be in action next on Saturday, Nov. 15, as they travel to Delaware for a 12:00 p.m. matchup. Pock and the No. 9 Minuteman hockey team will host No. 3 Boston College on Friday, with the puck dropping at 7:00 p.m.
