Luttati Selected To The Verizon All-Academic Team

AMHERST, Mass. - University of Massachusetts junior midfielder Michelle Luttati (Westford, Mass.) has been named to the Verizon Academic All-District I team for women's soccer. She is one of 11 players who now qualify for national consideration.
Luttati started in 16 of the Minutewomen's 17 games this season, tallying one goal and one assist for three points. The 1999 Atlantic 10 All-Rookie team and Soccer Buzz Northeast Region All-Freshman team selection has maintained a 3.86 GPA as a communications major.
Luttati, who was a 2000 second team Verizon Aacdemic All-District I pick, has been on the Dean's List, UMass Athletic Director's Honor Roll and A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll each semester she has been in Amherst. Last season, the Westford, Mass., native was an A-10 All-Academic team pick and earned the UMass Athletic Council Honor Roll citation for having the highest GPA on the team.
Luttati is a 1999 graduate of Westford Academy, where she lettered in both soccer and basketball. As a senior at Westford, Luttati was selected to the Eastern Massachusetts All-Star and All-State team. She was named to the Dual-County League All-Star team her sophomore through senior years. In 1998 and 1999, Luttati was named Dual-County League Most Valuable Player and Lowell Sun Player of the year.
