Bellini Named A-10 Rookie Of The Week

AMHERST, Mass. - Freshman Lindsey Bellini (Webster, N.Y.) has been named the Atlantic 10 Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week as announced this afternoon by the league office.
"Against Duquesne, she scored a vital goal to get us tied up in a game it appeared we were going to lose." said Head Coach Jim Rudy. "It is nice to see a freshman playing this well while still learning as she goes."
Bellini scored two goals in a 5:29 span as the Minutewomen came from behind to beat Duquesne, 2-1 last Friday night. She has now tallied five goals this season to lead the team. The game-winning goal came on a penalty kick with just 1:29 remaining in regulation. It marked the first time in her career that she has recorded multiple-goals in one game.
Massachusetts returns to Rudd Field for a four-game homestand beginning Friday, Oct. 25 when it hosts Temple at 2:00 p.m.
