Women's Soccer Ranked 19th In The Nation

AMHERST, Mass. - With its 4-3 double-overtime season-opening win over Boston College last Saturday, Sept. 1, the University of Massachusetts women's soccer team entered the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Division I Poll this week at No. 19.

This marks the first time since 1998, when the Minutewomen earned a No. 22 preseason ranking, that UMass has been ranked. The year prior, UMass peaked at No. 10 after winning its first six games of the season.

The Minutewomen open their home season as host to No. 9 University of Connecticut, Wednesday, Sept. 5, at Totman Field. Game time is set for 4:30 p.m.
