Massachusetts struck first when sophomore Michelle Luttati (Westford, Mass.) scored with 38:40 remaining in the first half. Sophomore Erin Lilly (Ballston Lake, N.Y.) and senior Katelyn Jones (Round Lake, N.Y.) were credited with the assist. Luttati scored her second goal of the game off a pass from senior Brooke Bartlett (Clifton Park, N.Y.) early in the second half to make the score 2-0. Lilly wrapped up the scoring with a goal assisted by junior Martha Conover (Liverpool, N.Y.) at the 63 minute mark.
UMass goaltender sophomore Kelly Nigh (Seattle, Wash.) was credited with the shutout. New Hampshire goaltender Kristen Oullette had five saves in the losing effort.
The Minutewomen return to action Tuesday, Oct. 2, when they take on Harvard at 3:00 p.m. in Cambridge, Mass.
