Women's Swimming & Diving Falls To Syracuse 240-130

AMHERST, Mass. -- Freshman Christen Dexter (Centerville, Mass.) set a UMass record in the 200 breast with a time of 2:22.20 as the University of Massachusetts women's swimming and diving team fell to Syracuse by a score of 240-130, this afternoon to conclude a two-day meet at UMass' Joseph R. Rogers, Jr. Pool. UMass is now 5-1 in dual meet competition on the season.
The 400 free relay team of junior Becky Hunnewell (Sandwich, Mass.), junior Andrea Kazanjian (Troy, N.Y.), sophomore Lauren Bulkeley (Virginia Beach, Va.) and junior Anne Dettloff (Barrington, Ill.) set a pool record with a time of 3:35.51.
Springfield native Annie Tudryn set a pool record in the 100 breast (1:05.67) and won the 200 breast (2:20.05) for the Orangewomen. Syracuse also set pool records in the 200 medley relay (1:49.77), 800 free relay (7:53.66), while Melissa Plummer set a pool record in the 400 IM (4:36.45).
The Minutewomen return to the pool on Saturday, Dec. 9, when they travel to UConn to take on the Huskies at 12:00 p.m.
