Hockey Falls to Boston Univeristy, 4-2

BOSTON, Mass. -- Boston University's Carl Corazzini and Freddy Meyer each scored a goal and an assist as the Terriers defeated the University of Massachusetts, 4-2, in college hockey action at Walter Brown Arena.
Boston University scored three first period goals, including two on the power play, to give the Terriers a weekend sweep of the Minutemen.
Dan Cavanaugh scored early in the first period at 2:33 to give Boston University a 1-0 lead. The goal came on the power play with assists from Meyer and John Sabo. Corazzini scored the Terriers second goal of the night with an assist from Jack Baker at 12:39 of the first to extend the lead to 2-0.
Sophomore Brad Nizwantowski (Peabody, Mass.) put the Minutemen on the board in the second period at 10:23 to cut the Terriers lead to 3-1. Nizwantowski assisted on a goal by senior Kris Wallis (Agassiz, British Columbia) at 8:20 of the third.
Sophomore Samuli Jalkanen (Helsinki, Finland) had two assists on the night for the Minutemen. It was Jalkanen's first multiple-point game of his career. He is now tied for the team lead in assists with nine.
Mike Johnson (Excelsior, Minn.) made 31 saves in the net for the Minutemen, while Sean Fields made 21 saves for the Terriers.
UMass is now 3-10-2 overall and 3-3-0 in Hockey East, while the Terriers improve to 4-8-1 overall and 3-4-1 in Hockey East.
The Minutemen return to action Friday, Dec. 8, when they travel to Providence College. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
