Emma Kurowski Named WHMP/UMASS Athlete Of The Week

AMHERST, MASS. - Senior forward Emma Kurowski (Sutton, Mass.) was named the WHMP/UMass Athlete of the Week, today at the weekly sports luncheon for her record breaking performance over the weekend. Kurowski, who was name the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week earlier this week, scored four goals in two games last weekend while earning two major career milestones. She scored two goals in the 4-3 double overtime loss to regional rival UConn on Friday. Her first tally broke the all-time scoring record, and her second tally gave her the all-time lead in goals scored. Both records were previously held by former UMass All-America Rebecca Myers who tallied 101 points and 38 goals from 1993-96. Kurowski scored two goals in Sunday?s 3-2 win over Rhode Island, to up her all-time point total to 108 and her all-time goal total to 41. A three-time All-Atlantic 10 selection, she has scored more goals and tallied more points than any other UMass player, man or woman, in school history.
