Tamara Drummond joined the University of Massachusetts Athletics Department in 1994, first serving as an Academic Counselor, and now as Associate Director of Academic Success.
Drummond is the primary academic coordinator for the football program, overseeing the day-to-day academic support needs and academic progress of over 100 student-athletes. She also helps coordinate advising and registration and serves as the liaison to the New Students Orientation program.
Drummond’s other responsibilities include co-facilitation of the Maroon Connections Program, a student-athlete development initiative that helps prepare student-athletes for life after college.
From 2012-17, Drummond was involved in the development and teaching of Service Learning 390CE, a Civic Engagement course that brought members of the football team together with youth from the Holyoke Boys and Girls Club. A 2017-18 faculty fellow in Civic Engagement and Service Learning, her current teaching responsibilities include the Your Winning Season one-credit student-athlete freshman seminar.
Drummond holds a bachelor’s degree in sport management (1993) and a master’s degree in educational policy, research, and administration (1996) from the University of Massachusetts. She was previously employed in the Dartmouth College Sports Information Office and interned with the AHL's minor league hockey team in Springfield.
