Josh Sherman

Josh Sherman joined the University of Massachusetts baseball staff as a volunteer assistant coach in January of 2026. Sherman comes to Amherst after spending four seasons at Bates College as the baseball Director of Operations.
While at Bates, Sherman coached first base, analyzed pitcher and hitter performance, and coordinated team meals and travel. He also manged the teams' social media content and inputted live stats during games.
Sherman played four years on the varsity baseball team at Gann Academy (Waltham, Mass.), while spending his summers as the equipment manager with the Lexington Blue Sox of the Intercity League in the Greater Boston Area. In the summer of 2022, he worked alongside members of the Worcester Red Sox front office as an intern in the WooSox Foundation at Polar Park (Worcester, Mass.).
In the summers of 2023 and 2024, Sherman also worked as an assistant coach and baseball operations assistant with the Vermont Lake Monsters (Burlington, Vt.) of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League. Following his graduation, Sherman also spent time with the Florence Y'alls (Florence, Ky.) of the Frontier League as a Baseball Operations intern for the 2025 season and was the Associate Director of Scouting for the Vermont Lake Monsters from October 2025 through December 2025.
A native of Lexington, Massachusetts, Sherman graduated from Bates in 2025 with a bachelor's degree in psychology. He was also named to the Dean's List all four years.
