AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2019-20
Fall 2019: Coxswain in the 10th place Open 8+ (17:01.03) at the Head of the Riverfront Regatta (10/6) ... Also coxed the Open 4+ that tabbed fifth (20:19.78) ... Led the Collegiate 4+ C boat to ninth (17:41.2) at the Head of the Housatonic (10/12).
AS A FRESHMAN IN 2018-19
Spring 2019: Finished sixth (7:41.254) in the Second Varsity Four Grand Final at the Dad Vail Regatta (5/11), shaving over a minute from the previous day’s heat time ... Had a third place effort (6:52.277) coxing the Third Varsity Eight at the Dad Vail Regatta (5/11) ... Coxed the 3V8 to fifth (7:40.70) in the Grand Final at the Knecht Cup (4/14).
Fall 2018: Was less than two seconds (7:46.86) behind Temple for first place in the 3V8 Petite Final at the Doc Hosea Regatta (3/30) ... Was in the Collegiate Quad lineup at the Head of the Fish (10/27), but the regatta was shortened due to inclement weather.
Calnan on UMass: "I chose UMass based off of the exceptional public health program and the research and internship opportunities the school has to offer. I chose UMass rowing because I wanted to be pushed out of my comfort zone as an athlete as well as be a part of such a loving, supportive and motivated team."
Personal: Daughter of Matthew Calnan and Cathleen Laliberte ... Stepdaughter of Mike Laliberte and Jennifer Calnan ... Has three siblings, Addison, Michael and Samuel ... Was born in Methuen, Massachusetts ... Enjoys hiking, listening to music and spending time at the beach ... Intends to major in public health.
