In the spring of 2002, Boyle began rowing and was a member of the novice four that won gold at the Atlantic 10 Championships. In 2003, she was the seven seat of the first varsity eight that won gold at the Atlantic 10 Championship, ECAC Championship, Dad Vail Regatta, and the women[apos]s Henley Royal Regatta. In 2004, she rowed in the seven seat of the first varsity eight that won gold at the Atlantic 10 and ECAC Championship Regatta. The varsity eight finished the season with a 40-1 overall record, to rank UMass 17th in the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association Poll. Boyle was selected to the Mid-Atlantic All-Regional first team that season.
During the summer of 2004, the Darien, Conn., native rowed as a member of the O.A.R.S. Program, an elite rowing program, at the Saugatuck Boat Club in Westport, Conn. She rowed in the Saugatuck straight four that placed third at the non-Olympic World trials. This third place finish helped Boyle earn a spot to row with the U.S. Pre-Elite women at the Princeton Training Center in New Jersey. While rowing with the Pre-Elite team she rowed two seat of the eight that won gold and stroked the pair that won silver at the 2004 Canadian Henley Regatta. Boyle graduated in 2004 with a degree in English. She currently resides in Amherst.
