Simon spent the 2000-01 season as an administrative assistant, and prior to that, two seasons as a graduate assistant with the UMass program. Before becoming a graduate assistant, Simon had a highly successful career at Massachusetts.
Simon served as the coxswain of the varsity eight boat that placed second in the NCAA Championships in both 1997 and 1998 and claimed three consecutive Atlantic 10 titles. Simon served as the coxswain of the varsity four boat that placed second at the Head of the Charles in 1997. She has attended numerous U.S. Rowing camps and participated in the U.S. National selections camps (1997-2001).
The Moorepark, Calif., native graduated from UMass cum laude in 1998 with an English degree and received her Masters of Education degree from UMass in 2001.
