After a stellar playing career at Boston College, Zoe Ochoa was named an assistant coach for the UMass women's lacrosse program in August 2017.
At Boston College, Ochoa was a three-year starter whose career was highlighted by the Eagles' 2017 NCAA runner-up finish during her senior year. Her 372 career saves is fourth all-time at Boston College. A native of Longmeadow, Mass., Ochoa twice earned the Athletics Director's Award for Academic Achievement and was a three-time selection to the ACC Academic Honor Roll. She finished her career with 70 games played, a 10.74 goals-against-average and a 38-19 overall record.
Following her senior year, she was drafted by the Philadelphia Force of the United Women's Lacrosse league.
"I was thrilled to welcome Zoe back to Western Mass," said head coach Angela McMahon. "I watched her develop into one of the nation's elite goalies during her collegiate career and she is a true ambassador of leadership and hard work. Her positive attitude and approach to the game are both infectious and her experience at Boston College is a great asset for our goalies and defensive unit."
In addition to her work on the field, Ochoa plays a critical role in recruiting, film breakdown, game plan preparation, and team operations overall.
