The University of Massachusetts men's cross-country and track team welcomed Sean Duncan back to the program as Director of Operations in 2014-15. Duncan holds certifications from the USTFCCCA in Program Management, International Protocol, and recently received his qualifications as an Endurance Specialist. Duncan is a 2011 graduate from the Isenberg School of Management, receiving his B.S. in Sports Management from the Mark H. McCormack Department of Sports Management.
Since graduating from UMass, Duncan has spent time as the Director of Youth Development at Personal Training International, Inc. in Acton, Mass. Under the guidance of former Ukrainian Olympic Coach and mentor Yury Klimovitsky, Duncan worked the developing clients in all capacities ranging from general fitness to athletes preparing for international competitions. In his short tenure, Duncan had experience working with over 10 All-Americans, three national champions, one World Junior Champion and one Olympian.
In his time as a Minuteman, Duncan was a part of 2008 cross country team that took home an Atlantic 10 Championship and was also an NCAA Regional Qualifier in the 3000m steeplechase. His mark of 8:52.85 still ranks third in the UMass record book. He is a 2007 Graduate of Gardner High School and both his grandfather and uncle are members of the MSTCA Coaches Hall of Fame.
