Pete Montague
Pete Montague is entering his 20th year with the UMass Athletics Academic Success unit and second in the role of Associate Director of Olympic Sports.
 
Montague is the academic counselor for the field hockey, ice hockey, men’s soccer and softball programs. He oversees the book scholarship program in addition to supporting the other academic counselors who serve our Olympic sport programs.
 
In addition to his membership in the National Association of Academic and Student-Athlete Development Professionals (N4A), Montague has attended NCAA programs including the Life Skills Symposium, Leadership Academy Workshop and Effective Facilitation Workshop and the N4A Professional Development Institute Leader/Manager track.
 
Prior to starting at UMass as an intern in 2004-05, Montague spent time in the athletic departments at Canisius College, Buffalo State College and D’Youville College. He was an assistant track and field coach for four years at Canisius and three years at the Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart. He earned his bachelor’s degree in communication studies and his master’s degree in sport administration at Canisius.
