Kellie Stigas

Kellie Stigas joined the University of Massachusetts field hockey program prior to the 2019 season as volunteer assistant coach. In her role, Stigas directly assists the program in all day-to-day facets, including practice and game planning, film breakdown and team travel arrangements.
Stigas arrived at UMass after a standout career at Northeastern that spanned five seasons (2014-18), including four under NFHCA Hall of Fame head coach Cheryl Murtagh. The two-time captain was part of the Huskies squad that won the 2014 CAA regular season title, the first in program history. After a redshirt year, she appeared in all 75 games of her playing career, recording 33 points on 12 goals and nine assists. From 2016-18, Stigas received three straight invitations to the United States Young Women’s National Championship, the selection venue for the U.S. U-21 National Team.
Following her playing career, Stigas spent Spring and Summer 2019 as a volunteer assistant at Northeastern and was with the team during its foreign tour to Argentina in June 2019.
A USA Field Hockey Level 1 certified coach, she has coached at numerous camps and clinics throughout New England and has led various indoor and outdoor programs at Boston Field Hockey Club since 2014.
Stigas is a native of Canton, Massachusetts and earned her bachelor’s degree from Northeastern in psychology. Her sister, Kristine, was an NFHCA All-Region goalkeeper at Boston College.
