2001: Played in eight games on the season, with most of his action coming on special teams ? Also saw playing time at outside linebacker against James Madison, Villanova and Northeastern ? Totaled eight tackles on the year ? Made three solo tackles in the victory over James Madison ? Had a pair of tackles in the win over Rhode Island ? Also made tackles against Northeastern, New Hampshire and Hofstra.
UMass Baseball: Played in 37 games with 30 starts during the 2002 season, seeing action in center field and left field ? Hit .269 on the year with 22 runs scored, five stolen bases, two doubles and 12 runs batted in.
Before UMass: Spent one season at the Salisbury (Conn.) School, where he played for coach Sean Brennan ? Led Salisbury to a 9-0 record and the state Class A championship in 2000, playing both running back and linebacker ? Also led Salisbury to a 17-1 record in baseball and the state prep school championship ? Prior to that, played for coach David Shepherd at Ware High School, where he was a linebacker and quarterback ? Led team a 10-1 record and a Super Bowl appearance in 1999 ? A first team All-Western Massachusetts selection in his sophomore, junior and senior seasons ? Named MVP of the Inter-County League as a senior, in addition to being a three-time All-League selection ? Served as team captain as a senior, when he was also named team MVP ? Also a member of the baseball and basketball teams at Ware ? Hit .540 in baseball during his senior year, while earning first team All-Western Massachusetts honors all four years.
