TAILGATING POLICIES

Tailgating is a longstanding college football gameday tradition. At UMass, it is a gameday fixture that embraces the fellowship of friends, UMass pride and spirit, and great energy and support of our football program. The University of Massachusetts and UMass Athletics strongly encourage responsible tailgating to enhance the gameday experience, ensure a safe gameday atmosphere for all guests, and preserve our campus' beauty.

Individuals, groups, and organizations participating in tailgate activities are responsible for their own conduct, are expected to respect the rights of others and the entire University community, and to attend the game!

As you take part in gameday activities, we ask that you please help us maintain the campus buildings, grounds and landscape which are important investments for students, faculty, staff and guests to enjoy. Inappropriate or dangerous behavior affecting the safety of guests, resulting in destruction of university property, facilities and/or grounds, and/or failing to adhere to these tailgating policies may result in the permanent and/or immediate loss of tailgating privileges.

Parking lots open four hours prior to kickoff-- parking or standing on roads before that time is prohibited.

All guests wishing to park a vehicle on gameday in parking lots surrounding McGuirk Alumni Stadium will require a paid parking pass. Beginning this season, all parking passes will be issued in a digital format, allowing them to be easily saved to a mobile wallet and aligning with the department’s fully digital ticketing system.

To ensure the smoothest arrival on campus, fans are strongly encouraged to secure their parking passes when purchasing game tickets. Fans who arrive without a pre-purchased pass may be directed to Lot 22/33 or the ADA Lot, where admission will be available for $27 on gameday (card only).

Digital parking passes are fully transferable through each fan’s online ticket account, providing added flexibility.

To keep traffic flowing efficiently, Massachusetts Athletics encourages fans to have their pass ready to be scanned upon arrival.

UMass students can purchase a parking pass in Lot 11 (based on availability) starting the Thursday prior to gameday at the Mullins Box Office. Presentation of a UCard, as well as driver’s license and vehicle information, will be required to complete the purchase of a parking pass.
