History will be made tonight at Fitton Field in Worcester when Holy Cross hosts in-state rival UMass in the first-ever night football game played on the Crusaders campus.
It marks the 50th meeting in the series between HC and UMass, which begins a two-year transition period into the Football Bowl Subdivision and becomes a football-only member of the Mid-American Conference.
The Minutemen lead the series, 23-21-5, and have won the last eight meetings, including a 31-7 victory in Amherst last Sept. 11.
Holy Cross is pumped to provide an electric-style atmosphere, thanks to new portable lights.
