Victor Cruz Placed In Injured Reserve By Giants

After kicker Lawrence Tynes struggled to make it through Saturday morning's walk-through, the Giants signed veteran kicker Shayne Graham and placed rookie wide receiver Victor Cruz on injured reserve.

According to the Newark Star-Ledger. Cruz, who was a preseason sensation with the Giants, strained his hamstring Monday while running sprints. He said Friday he'll "definitely be back in there with the guys" next week, but that won't be the case now that he's on injured reserve.

The Giants did not give Cruz a "minor" designation, which would have indicated he'd be waived when healthy. That means the team plans on keeping Cruz on IR all season. Cruz was active for three games this season, although he did not catch a pass.
