Massachusetts Women's Track Continues Outdoor Season At UConn Dog Fight

STORRS, Conn. —  The University of Massachusetts women's track and field program continued the outdoor season at the UConn Dog Fight in Storrs at the George J. Sherman Family Sports Complex. 

Highlights from Competition:
  • Jaliyah Burns placed eighth in the women's hammer throw with a toss of 167'. 
  • Elizabeth Hopkins rounded out the top five in the women's javelin throw with a toss of 127'6". 
  • Megan Frazee shared a third place finish in the women's pole vault with a clear of 12'1.5". 
  • Shakira Cadet placed fifth in the women's long jump with a leap of 18'3.25". Cadet also placed second in the women's triple jump with a leap of 39'8". 
  • Coco Van Nynatten won gold in the women's discus with a throw of 151'8". Natalie Krysta rounded out the top-three with a throw of 150'6". 
  • Jillian Strynar,Jana DeRaedt, Chloe Guthrie and Jennifer Williams combined to run a 46.86 in the women's 4x100m relay, taking eighth place.
  • Ashley Johnson placed second in the women's 400m with a time of 55.00. 
  • Jillian Strynar rounded out the top-10 in the women's 100m with a finishing time of 11.99. 
  • Skylar Fox rounded out the top-10 in the women's 800m with a time of 2:17.96. 
  • Jillian Strynar placed fourth in the women's 200m with a time of 24.68. Ashley Johnson rounded out the top-eight with a finish of 24.92.

The Minutewomen return to action for the Friar Invitational on April 10 in Providence and the UMass Commonwealth Invitational on April 11 in Amherst, Mass.
