Massachusetts Men's Track Returns Home At Commonwealth Invitational

AMHERST, Mass — The university of Massachusetts men's track and field program returned home to host the Commonwealth Invitational on Saturday at the UMass Track & Field Complex.

Massachusetts returns to action at the UConn Northeast Challenge and Georgia Tech Invitational on April 17-18th.

- Collin Catherwood paced the men's 5k invitational, winning the event by over 14 seconds with a time of 14:02.60. Liam Ouellette rounded out the top-10 with a finish of 14:36.58.
- Alec Carew placed sixth in the men's mile with a time of 4:13.15.
- Riley Cole finished second in the men's 3k steeplechase with a time of 8:55.43.
- Hunter Feitel placed third in the men's pole vault with a clear of 14'7.50".
- Matthew Acquah took the top spot in the men's triple jump with a leap of 49'2.50".
- Hunter Camara took runner-up in the men's javelin with a toss of 183'10". The duo of Elijah Wolinski (11th) and Nicholas Gallagher (12th) placed consecutively with throws of 150'8" and 150'0", respectively.
- Jason Dejesus, Michael Sanchez, Winston Lewis and Godot Gaskins combined to run a 41.10 in the men's 4x100, taking first place.
- Collin Catherwood placed first in the men's 1500m with a time of 3:51.36. Liam Ouellette placed sixth with a finish of 4:00.24 and Archie Pinder placed in the top-10 with the ninth fastest finish in 4:01.31.
- Godot Gaskins paced the men's 400m with a finishing time 47.51.
- Jason Dejesus rounded out the top-five in the men's 100m dash with a time of 10.67.
- Elijah Wolinski placed fifth in the men's 110m hurdles with a time of 14.83.
- Alec Carew took runner up in the men's 800m run with a finish in 1:54.97. Logan Walsh placed fourth with a time of 1:55.19 and Altamno Aschkenasy secured ninth with a time of 1:56.13.
- Gaskins took runner up in the men's 200m dash with a time of 21.49.
- Tory Stuckey placed fourth in the men's high jump with a leap of 6'3.50".
- Aiden Donovan placed fourth in the men's discus throw with a distance of 158'0".
