Massachusetts Hockey Adds Klecka To 2025-26 Roster

AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts hockey has added 5-11, 179-pound forward Lukas Klecka to its roster for the 2025-26 season, head coach Greg Carvel announced on Tuesday. The Bratislava, Slovakia, native is the fourth member of the Minutemen's class of 2029, joining forwards Jack Galanek, Justin Kerr and defenseman Coleson Hanrahan.

"Lukas played this past season in Sweden and featured on the Slovakian World Junior team," said Carvel. "He will bring a lot of pace, skill and compete to our team next season."

Klecka spent three seasons with Södertälje SK J20 in Sweden, registering 104 points on 33 goals and 71 assists over 144 career contests. He logged 35 points (13g, 22a) in 42 games in 2024-25 and had 16 goals and 28 assists for 44 points in 2023-24.
Klecka played five games for Slovakia at the 2025 World Junior Championships in Ottawa alongside current Minuteman rising sophomore Daniel Jencko. He has represented Slovakia at the U20, U19 and U18 levels, scoring two goals in four games at the World Junior A Challenge in 2023-24.
