Massachusetts to Face Boston College as Part of The 2025 Basketball Hall of Fame Classic

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- The University of Massachusetts men's basketball team will take part in the 2025 Basketball Hall of Fame Classic, The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame announced Thursday. The Minutemen will face Boston College on Wednesday, December 10, at the MassMutual Center in Springfield. UMass will be joined by regional programs Yale and Albany to round out the 2025 field.
"Once again, it will be an honor to be a part of the Hall of Fame classic in Springfield, playing at the MassMutual Center," said Head Coach Frank Martin. "This year, unlike in previous opportunities, it will be a great in-state match-up against Boston College. This will be great for basketball in our state and New England."
Massachusetts will face Boston College for the 48th time in program history, with the all-time record sitting at 21-26 in favor of the Eagles. The two programs last faced each other on Nov. 16, 2014 with Massachusetts claiming a 71-62 at the TD Garden.
"We are proud to announce the field for the 2025 Hall of Fame Classic," said John L. Doleva, President and CEO of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame. "This event has become a staple of our winter lineup, offering a great environment for the programs and drawing strong support from the local community. We look forward to welcoming these teams to the 'Birthplace of Basketball' this December."
