Marcus Banks Jr. Joins Massachusetts Basketball 2025 Incoming Class

AMHERST, Mass. -- University of Massachusetts basketball officially signed transfer Marcus Banks Jr. to the incoming class of 2025, Head Coach Frank Martin announced Thursday. Banks Jr. joins will make his way to Amherst having played 95 games at the Division I level, making 76 starts. 
 
"Marcus is a proven college basketball scorer whohas made over 200 three-pointers in each of the past two seasons," stated Martin. "He will provide maturity and ability to score at a high level as we continue to build our program for the high pace style we like to play." 
 
A 6-foot-3 guard, Banks Jr joins the Minutemen after two seasons at University of Maryland, Baltimore County. The Hampton, Virginia native has developed into one of the nation's top shooters, having led the America East Conference in 3-point field goals over the past two seasons. Banks Jr. averaged 16.6 points over 32 games last season while shooting 41.8 percent from beyond the arc.  
 
Banks Jr. joins Bilal Osman, Danny Carbuccia, Donovan Brown, K'jei Parker, Charles Outlaw, Dimitri Clerc, Leonardo Bettiol, Isaiah Placide and Dwayne Wimbley Jr. as part of an incoming class ranked top 60 nationally, according to 247sports.com.
