Massachusetts Tennis Defeats Bryant On Senior Day, 5-2

Senior Mariana Campino and Belle Jonglertrakul captured singles victories on the day
AMHERST, Mass. — University of Massachusetts tennis claimed a dominant 5-2 victory atop Bryant on Friday afternoon at the Mullins Tennis Courts.
Campino and Jonglertrakul were celebrated in a pre-match ceremony for Senior Day to celebrate their accomplishments on and off the court.
Massachusetts clinched the doubles point with victories on courts No. 2 and 3. After Campino and Jonglertrakul dropped a 6-4 match against Bryant's Natalia Vela and Maria Jose Hernandez Diaz at No. 1 singles, Amelia Tye and Ella Faessler rallied to garner a 6-0 match over Caitlyn Munson and Yahli Noy of the Bulldogs on court No. 2. Martina Pavissich and Owethu Makhanya notched the doubles point with a 6-4 win over Bryant's Lucia Pino and Nicole Isman at No. 3 doubles.
At singles play, Campino continued the momentum with a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 1 singles against Vela of the Bulldogs. Soon after, Jonglertrakul collected a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Bryant's Munson on court No. 3– while Pavissich claimed a 6-2, 7-6 (3) win against Aurora Pedwell of Bryant on court No. 5. Amelia Tye clinched the match for Massachusetts in a 7-6, (3) 6-2 match atop Hernandez at No. 4 singles.
Makhanya and Faessler dropped their respective singles matches to make the final score 5-2.
The Minutewomen look ahead to their final home match on Wednesday, April 9th versus UConn. The match is slated for 2 p.m.
