Massachusetts Tennis Drops Close 4-3 Match To Brown

The Minutewomen claimed the doubles point on the day.
AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts tennis dropped a close 4-3 match to Brown University on Saturday afternoon at the Bay Road Indoor Tennis Center.
Massachusetts clinched the doubles point with wins on court No. 1 and No. 2. Partners Mariana Campino and Belle Jonglertrakul defeated Addison Ahlstrom and Lindsey Hofflander of Brown, 6-3, at No. 1 doubles, with the duo of Amelia Tye and Belle Jonglertrakul downing the Bears' Dani Ben-Abraham and Bella Hu, 6-2, at court No. 2
Trinity Calinescu and Martina Pavissich led, 5-2, at No. 3 over Hannah Shen and Ali Maguy of Brown, before the match went unfinished.
Campino collected the first point in singles competition for the Minutewomen with a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Gabby Soliman at court No. 1, to make it a 2-0 match. Brown tied up the match at 2-2 with wins at No. 2 and No. 3 singles, respectively. Amelia Tye put UMass back on top, 3-2, after winning 3-6, 6-0, 7-6(4) on court No. 4. The Bears brought the match back to a 3-3 tie after Ben-Abraham defeated Martina Pavissich, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 6 singles.
Hu clinched the match for Brown at court No. 5 with a 7-6, 6-4 win over Calinescu.
Massachusetts hits the road for two matches, with a stop in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday, March 19, to face George Washington, before heading to Richmond, Virginia, on Saturday, March 22, to take on Richmond. Both matches are set to begin at 11 a.m.
