Andrew Bell sets new school record of 12-dives in the event on day one.
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Junior Andrew Bell qualified for the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships after claiming the top spot in the men's one-meter dive on day one of the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships, hosted by Rutgers, at the Sonny Werblin Recreation Center.
Bell is the only Minuteman diver in school history to represent Massachusetts at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships in back-to-back years. It also marks the third time a Minuteman diver will attend the event, as Bell qualified in both the one- and three-meter events in 2024 and Jason Cook ('12) became the first diver to attend in 2009.
After placing first in the Prelims/Quarterfinals of the one-meter with a score of 357.95, Bell secured the gold in the Finals. Combined with his prelims score, the South Windsor, Connecticut, native, finished with a total of 747.25 on the day to solidify his spot at the NCAA Championships. His tally of 747.25 marks a new school record of 12-dives
Freshman Alex Kreidler completed the Prelims/Quarterfinals of the one-meter dive with a score of 240.70 to finish 37th.
For the Minutewomen, junior Shreeya Sinha took 54th-place in the Prelims/Quarterfinals of the three-meter dive with a total of 225.75, while freshman Khrystyna Yaremyn followed behind in 57th with a score of 222.90 in the event.
