Diggins Claims Third National Player Of The Week Honor

AMHERST, MASS. -- Massachusetts guard Rahsool Diggins was selected as a Oscar Robertson National Player of The Week, the U.S. Basketball Writers Association announced Tuesday. The award marks the third National Player of The Week honor for Diggins, and second selection from the USBWA.
Diggins also earned Atlantic 10 Conference Co-Player of The Week honors, the conference announced this week. Diggins, who shared the honor with Saint Louis's Gibson Jimerson, received his second weekly conference award of the season.
Rahsool Diggins claims the weekly awards after averaging 29.5 points and 4.0 rebounds on 53.8% shooting over two games. Diggins powered the Minutemen to a 62-53 win over Duquesne, scoring 32 points while shooting 11-of-18 from the field. The senior scored 15 of Massachusetts' final 19 points against the Dukes, going a perfect 4-of-4 from the field and 3-of-3 from three-point range over the final six minutes of the game. The Philadelphia, Pennsylvania native has now tallied his third game with 30-plus points this season and 11th straight in double digits.
The Minutemen return home for a clash with Saint Louis on Tuesday, Feb. 4 at 7 p.m. at the Mullins Center. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+ with live updates and links available at umassathletics.com or @UMassMBB on X (Twitter).
