Men’s Swimming & Diving Falls To Harvard

Alex Kreidler recorded career-bests in both the one- and three-meter dive, while Carson Harrington had a career-best in the one-meter.
AMHERST, Mass. – The University of Massachusetts men's swimming and diving team fell to Harvard, 220.5-77.5, on Friday evening at the Joseph R. Rogers Jr., Pool.
Junior Jude Boukarroum placed second in the 1,000 freestyle with a season-best time of 9:54.87, as sophomore Zach Szabo took second in the 100 backstroke with a time of 50.04 Freshman Hudson Bawduniak followed with a second-place finish of his own in the 100 breaststroke with a career-best time of 57.17.
Senior Sammy Quigg swam into third in the 50 freestyle with a time of 20.72, before taking second in the 100 freestyle with a time of 45.14.
In the 200 backstroke, freshman Liam Hickey grabbed the bronze medal with a season-best time of 1:52.01, while Bawduniak picked up his second medal of the day, securing the silver in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:07.56. Freshman Chase Dai had a season-best time of 1:56.15 in the 200 individual medley to earn third-place.
During the relay events, the team of Szabo, Dai, Bawduniak and Quigg swam a combined time of 1:32.44 to place third in the 200 medley relay. The 200 freestyle relay team consisting of Hickey, freshman Macek Vandermolen, senior Aidan Shepston and Quigg earned second with a combined time of 1:23.18.
On The Boards
Sophomore Alex Kreidler scored a career-best six-dive total of 337.58 in the three-meter dive, placing third in the event.
In the one-meter dive, freshman Carson Harrington claimed second with a career-best total of 317.33, while Kreidler followed in third with a career-best score of 314.93.

The men's team returns to the pool, along with the Minutewomen, on Saturday, November 8, for a home meet against Boston University at the Joseph R. Rogers Jr., Pool. The meet begins at 11 a.m.
