Tennis To Host Holy Cross and Fairfield

UMass takes on the Crusaders and Stags at Bay Road Tennis Center this weekend.
AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts tennis prepares for two matches at home this weekend. UMass hosts Holy Cross on Saturday, February 1, before welcoming Fairfield on Sunday, February 2, at the Bay Road Tennis Center. Both matches are slated for 11 a.m. starts.
Last Time Out
After falling to Boston College in the spring season opener, the Minutewomen claimed their home doubleheader over Siena and Merrimack last weekend.
Massachusetts first earned a 5-2 win over the Saints with victories at second and third doubles, in addition to No. 2, No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5 singles. UMass continued its dominance into the afternoon, with a 4-0 shutout win atop the Warriors.
Scouting Holy Cross
The Crusaders will play their first spring match on Saturday against the Minutewomen, but currently have a 1-3 overall record from the fall season. In its last outing, Holy Cross fell 6-1 versus Assumption on October 8, 2024, while notching their lone victory over Endicott in a 4-3 match on September 20, 2024.
Scouting Fairfield
The Stags hold a 0-3 record so far this season, collecting losses against St. John's, LIU and UConn. Fairfield comes off a tight 4-3 loss to the Huskies on Wednesday afternoon.
Fairfield will travel to Rhode Island on Saturday, February 1, before heading up to UMass on Sunday.
Next Up
Massachusetts prepares for another weekend at home to host Army on Saturday, February 15 and St. John's on Sunday, February 16. Both matches are set to begin at 1 p.m. at the Bay Road Tennis Center.
