Massachusetts Men's Basketball Releases 2024-25 Non-Conference Slate

September 04, 2024 | Men's Basketball

AMHERST, Mass. -- The University of Massachusetts basketball program will face 13 teams as part of its 2024-25 non-conference slate, Head Coach Frank Martin announced Wednesday. The Minutemen's' 13-game non-conference schedule includes five teams that finished last season in the top 150 of the NCAA NET rankings.

Massachusetts' non-conference match-ups include six games against programs from the New England region as well as long-time east coast rival Temple. The Minutewomen will also challenge three power-four conference programs in West Virginia, Florida State and Arizona State, the most since the 2019-20 campaign.
UMass will kick off its 125th competitive season on Monday, Nov. 4, welcoming New Hampshire to the Mullins Center in the first meeting between the two teams since Nov. 9, 2018.

The Minutemen will travel for just two true road matchups, first facing Big 12 opponent West Virginia on Friday, Nov. 8 in Morgantown. Massachusetts will look to carry over momentum, having taken down the Mountaineers 87-79 in Springfield last season. Martin's squad will also head east, continuing their annual in-state matchup with Harvard on Wednesday, Nov. 27 in Cambridge.

Massachusetts will participate in multiple prestigious neutral site events across the northeast region beginning with a match-up against CUSA opponent Louisiana Tech at the Nassau County Coliseum in Long Island, New York.

The Minutemen will take part in the Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off alongside Temple (Nov. 23) and Florida State (Nov. 24). The Hall of Fame Tip-Off will be held over three days from Nov. 22-24 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.  The Minutemen will open the tournament against longtime rival Temple, facing the owls for the 67th time in program history, and first time since the 2018-19 season. UMass closes it's time at the Hall of Fame Tip-Off as it challenges ACC opponent Florida State for the first time since the 2014-15 campaign.

Massachusetts will close its neutral site affairs at the 2024 Basketball Hall of Fame Classic facing Arizona State on Saturday, Dec. 21, at the MassMutual Center in Springfield.

The maroon and white will also host Hofstra (Nov. 16), NJIT (Dec. 1), CCSU (Dec. 7), UMass Boston (Dec. 14) and Northeastern (Dec. 18) in the Mullins Center.

This past season, Martin led the Minutemen to their best campaign since 2014, finishing with a 20-11 overall record and securing a top-four seed in the Atlantic 10 Championship. The campaign marked the program's first 20-win season since 2013-14 and first top-four seed since the 2007-08 season.

Massachusetts men's basketball season tickets are now on sale. Season ticket packages start at $210 and include one ticket to each of the Minutemen's regular season home games played at the Mullins Center. Tickets can be purchased online using the following link.
