Massachusetts Tennis Garners ITA All-Academic Team Accolades

Eight Minutewomen received Academic Scholar-Athlete honors, while the team earned All-Academic Team status.
AMHERST, Mass. – Eight members of the University of Massachusetts tennis team were honored as ITA Scholar-Athletes, as announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association on Monday afternoon. Additionally, the squad tabbed ITA All-Academic Team accolades for their combined academic success.
Massachusetts was one of 255 Division I women's tennis programs to receive the ITA All-Academic Team award, as the honor is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.0 scale). All varsity letterwinners were factored into the cumulative GPA for the current academic year.
In order to receive ITA Scholar-Athlete status, a player must meet one of the following criteria: 1.) be listed on the institutional eligibility form, or 2.) have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale) for the current academic year.
