Keagy And Whittier Claim All-Atlantic 10 Honors

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- University of Massachusetts softball seniors Sarah Keagy and Chloe Whittier each received All-Atlantic 10 Second Team recognition, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon. The selections marks the first career end of year conference honors for both Keagy and Whittier.

Whittier earns All-Atlantic 10 selection after a stellar season in the outfield for the Minutewomen. The Victor, New York native has been a difference maker at the plate, leading the team in batting average (.317), runs (33), on-base percentage (.457) and stolen bases (6). Whittier also ranks No. 2 in the NCAA, reaching base via hit by pitch 24 times, while sitting Top-100 nationally in strikeout average with only eight strikeouts over the 2024 season. Starting all 51 games of the regular season, Whittier leads the Minutewomen outfield with a .989 fielding percentage and 85 put-outs.

Keagy receives end of year honors after a breakout season in the maroon and white. The Acton, Massachusetts native has been explosive offensively, leading the team and ranking top-10 in the A-10 in home runs (10), RBI (31), walks (29) and slugging percentage (.532). Playing in 49 games, splitting time at both designated player and third base, Keagy set new career-highs across the board including with a three hit and two home run performance in a victory over Fordham on March 22nd.

Keagy, Whittier and the Minutewomen head to the 2024 Atlantic 10 Softball Championship facing the No. 4-seeded Fordham Rams on Wednesday, May 8 at 12:00 p.m. at the Bahoshy Softball Complex in Bronx, NY in the tournaments opening matchup.
