#2 Stanford Tops Tennis In NCAA First Round

The Minutewomen fall, 4-0, to the Cardinals in the tournament.
STANFORD, Cali. – University of Massachusetts tennis wrapped up its season after falling, 4-0, to No. 2 Stanford University in the NCAA First Round on Friday afternoon at the Taube Family Tennis Stadium.
Stanford kicked off play clinching the doubles point. On court No. 3, the Cardinals' Chidimma Okpara and India Houghton defeated Renata Farima and Mariana Campino, 6-0. At No. 2 doubles, Katherine Hui and Valencia Xu of Stanford took down duo Ella Faessler and Amelia Tye, 6-2, to claim the first point of the match.
The match at No. 1 went unfinished, with Stanford's Angelica Blake and Alexis Blokhina leading, 3-2, over Danielle Hack and Thamonpan Jonglertrakul.
Blake of the Cardinals' was off to a quick start, claiming a point at No. 1 singles over Hack, 6-2, 6-2, before Stanford's Emma Sun earned a 6-3, 6-3, win over Tye at court No. 6. Stanford clinched the match as Hui downed Faessler, 6-2, 7-5 at No. 3.
