The Minutewomen host LIU on Sunday, March 3 at the Mullins Tennis Center.
HANOVER, N.H. – University of Massachusetts tennis downed Dartmouth, 5-2, on Saturday afternoon at the Boss Tennis Center. The Minutewomen return to Amherst on Sunday, March 3, to host LIU at the Mullin Tennis Courts.
Massachusetts secured the doubles points with wins at courts No. 1 and No. 3. Danielle Hack and Thamonpan Jonglertrakul took down Dartmouth's Lexi Dewire and Elizabeth Fahrmeier, 7-6(7) at No. 1 doubles, before duo Renata Farima and Mariana Campino won 6-3 over Ameliija Swaffer-Selff and Caroline Lemcke of Dartmouth at No. 3 doubles.
The Minutewomen continued their success into singles play, as Hack defeated Peyton Capuano, 6-3, 6-4, at court No. 1, to make it a 2-0 contest. Amelia Tye won 6-3, 6-1, over Dartmouth's Lemcke at No. 4 singles, while Campino downed Katie Weber of Dartmouth, 6-2, 6-4 at No. 5 singles. Polina Akimova clinched a point for UMass with a 6-3, 0-6, 6-2 win against Fahrmeier at No. 6. The Big Green collected their two points with wins at courts No. 2 and No. 3.
