Massachusetts Tennis Sweeps Lehigh and Siena In Doubleheader

The Minutewomen improve to 7-3 on the season.
AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts tennis completed a clean sweep over Lehigh and Siena in their doubleheader on Sunday at the Bay Road Tennis Center. UMass earned 4-0 victories over each team, respectively.
The Minutewomen kickstarted the day with a dominant showcase in doubles over the Mountain Hawks. The team of Danielle Hack and Thamonpan Jonglertrakul defeated Allyce Gaborik and Maggie Forkner of Lehigh, 6-0 at No. 1 doubles. On court No. 3, Mariana Campino and Renata Farima clinched the doubles point, claiming a 6-3 match over the Mountain Hawks' Hamsa Javagal and Audrey Harrington. On court No. 2, Lehigh's Anushka Dania and Megha Dania were up 5-3 over Ella Faessler and Amelia Tye, before that contest went unfinished.
UMass' command persisted in singles play, picking up wins on courts No. 1, No. 3, No. 4. Tye started things off at No. 4 singles, notching a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Megha Dania of Lehigh. On court No. 1, Danielle Hack defeated the Mountain Hawks' Javagal, 6-3, 6-3. Lastly at No. 3 singles, Campino triumphed over Gaborik 7-5, 7-5. The remaining matches on courts No. 2, No. 5, and No. 6 went unfinished; the final match score reading 4-0.
Massachusetts continued their successful day in doubles play over Siena, collecting wins on courts No. 3 and No. 2. Campino and Farima went undefeated on the day, notching a 6-1 match over the Saints' Shelby Madeiros and Reegan Mullaney at No. 3 doubles. The duo of Hack and Jonglertrakul added their second win of the day, besting Alexa Wilson and Emma Boggiali of Siena, 6-3 on court No. 1. Faessler and Tye were up 5-3 at No. 2 doubles before the doubles' point was clinched.
In singles play against Siena, UMass continued their offensive prowess; garnering wins on courts No. 4, No. 3, and No. 1. Campino completed a decisive 6-1, 6-0 win over the Saints' Gomez at No. 4 singles, before Jonglertrakul added a 6-0, 6-0 triumph of her own atop Boggiali of Siena on court No. 3. Hack clinched the victory for UMass with a 6-3, 6-0 match against Wilson of the Bernards at No. 1 singles. Both Alexandra O'Brien and Mariya Krasakova were up in their respective matches, while Faessler split sets before their matches went incomplete.
The Minutewomen prepare for one match next weekend. The team travels to Providence, Rhode Island on Saturday, March 16, for a matchup with Brown at 11 a.m.
