Bell Finishes First In Two Events At The Northeastern Dive Invite

BOSTON – Four divers competed at the Northeastern Diving Invitational on Saturday afternoon at the Barletta Natatorium. Sophomore Andrew Bell sat atop the leaderboard in both the one- and three-meter dive, while breaking his own school record in the three-meter dive. Senior Tommy Cotner recorded personal-bests and etched his name in the record book in both events.
Bell scored a 365.25 in the one-meter dive to place first, and registered a personal-best score of 461.40 in the three-meter dive to sit atop the podium. He broke his own previous school record of 403.73 in the three-meter from earlier this season. Cotner landed second in the school records in the one-meter dive with a total of 361.50, finishing second in the event, while claiming fourth in the three-meter dive after totaling a 359.45, making his score the third-best in program history.
Senior Zak Teffahi also competed for the Minutemen, scoring a personal-record of 217.25 in the one-meter and a personal-best 227.05 in the three-meter dive to place sixth in both events.
For the Minutewomen, sophomore Salem Howes took 11th in both the one-meter dive with a six-dive total of 254.70 and in the three-meter dive with a score of 253.05. Both scores marked personal-bests for Howes.
Next Up
UMass will take a break and ready for the A-10 Championships on Wednesday, February 21 through Saturday, February 24. The event will start at 10 a.m., before the evening sessions start at 6:30 p.m.
