Recinos Earns Back-To-Back A-10 Midfielder Of The Year Award To Highlight Postseason Honors

Curry, Lamond and Recinos collect All-Conference honors.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Senior Bella Recinos was named the Atlantic 10 Midfielder of the Year to headline a total of four postseason awards for the University of Massachusetts women's soccer team, the league announced on Wednesday morning. Recinos is the third member of the program to combine for five major awards with Jason Dowiak at the helm.
 
Recinos garners the accolade for the second consecutive season, becoming the first Minutewomen to achieve the honor in back-to-back seasons. She is also the first A-10 player to collect the award in two consecutive seasons since Nicole Waters (Dayton) achieved the feat in 2014 and 2015.
 
In addition, Recinos, a midfielder, was also tabbed to the league's All-Conference First Team for the second time in her career. Graduate student defender Ella Curry and senior forward Ashley Lamond earned a spot on the All-Conference Second Team. Curry garners the award for the first time in her career, while Lamond picks up the accolade for the second time in her career.
 
Recinos started in all 19 games for the Minutewomen, so far, this season, accumulating 1,542 minutes on the pitch. She leads the team with a career-high 20 points and a career-best nine goals, while registering two assists. Recinos also recorded a team-high 42 shots, including a team-best 24 shots on goal. The Winter Park, Florida, native, tallied a team-leading four game-winning goals on the year, tying for first in the A-10 Conference. Her 20 points rank fifth in the league, with her nine goals tying her for third in the conference. Recinos matched a career-high four points, registering her first career brace at George Washington (10/3), notching the game-winner. At Saint Joseph's, she capitalized on her first career penalty kick opportunity.
 
Named A-10 Offensive Player of the Week once this season, Curry started in every contest for Massachusetts this season, so far, averaging over 1,521 minutes. She totaled 11 points on four goals and three assists. She had her first career multi-assist contest against Fordham (9/26) and recorded her first career multi-point game with a goal and assists against Rhode Island (9/29). The Collegeville, Pennsylvania, native notched a penalty kick goal against Dayton (10/13), while scoring an olimpico goal in the A-10 Quarterfinals to help the team advance to the semifinals round.
 
Lamond competed in 17 games for UMass, getting the start in 16, totaling 1,105 minutes on the field. She recorded 11 points on five goals and an assist, while tallying 27 shots, including 13 shots on target. The Tappan, New York, native, notched the game-winning goal for the Minutewomen at Bryant (9/8). She also scored a goal in back-to-back games against Davidson (10/24) and at VCU (10/27) to earn four points to be selected as the A-10 Offensive Player of the Week.
