Men's Soccer Earns At-Large Bid to NCAA Tournament, Set to Host Evansville

AMHERST, Mass. – The Massachusetts men's soccer program (10-3-5, 5-2-1 A10) earned its sixth overall NCAA Tournament bid on Monday afternoon. The Minutemen will host Evansville (11-6-3, 4-3-1MVC) at 1:00 p.m. in the NCAA First Round at Rudd Field. This marks the first NCAA bid for Massachusetts since 2020.
The winning team will travel to Philadelphia, taking on the No. 6-seeded Penn on Sunday, Nov. 24. The third round will take place on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1, with quarterfinals scheduled for Dec. 6-7.
Teams who advance to the Men's College Cup will travel to Cary, N.C., with semifinals taking place on Dec. 13 at 5:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The National Championship is slated for Dec. 16 at 7:00 p.m. All Men's College Cup games will be broadcasted live on ESPNU.
UMass holds a 5-5 record (.500) in the NCAA Tournament, advancing to the College Cup Semifinals in 2007. The Minutemen have made three Second Round appearances (2001, 2007, 2020) and six appearances overall (2001, 2007, 2008, 2017, 2020, 2024).

The Minutemen secured its first 10+ win season since 2017, scoring the 7th-most goals (40) and recording the 8th-highest goals average in the NCAA this year. UMass tallied the 11th-best score differential in the country and tied for 16th in the NCAA in shutout percentage, finishing the year with eight clean sheets.
Massachusetts joins Dayton, Fordham, and Saint Louis as the four Atlantic 10 teams to receive NCAA Tournament bids this season.
